Contraindications
- Acquired or congenital uterus anomalies
- Bleeding disorders (e.g., von Willebrand’s disease), unexplained genital bleeding
- Cancer of the uterus or cervix
- Chronic corticosteroid or immunosuppressive therapy
- Endometrial or cervical malignancy
Genital infections:
- Acute cervicitis, vaginitis (genital actinomycosis or other agents)
- Current pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)
- Pelvic tuberculosis
- Gestational trophoblastic disease
- Known or suspected allergy to copper, diagnosed Wilson’s disease, hypersensitivity to any component of GYN-CS® including trace elements present in the copper components
- Leukemia
- Sexual transmitted disease (STD)
- Undiagnosed abnormal uterine bleeding history
Cautions
- Anaemia (depending on the cause)
- Heavy menstrual flow
- Previous ectopic pregnancy
- Prior uterine or tubal surgery
- Severe dysmenorrhea
Uterine fibroids
- Valvular heart disease (with antibiotic cover)
